Ever since my brother passed away in 2016, I spent the majority of my time trying to figure out how to focus on my health.  I know I was selfish, but I wasn’t in the same mindset during that timeframe.  Apparently, I had the whole walking/running/exercise thing down, but there was a lot more I was missing.  Over the next few months, I gained a ton knowledge about what it means to actually take care of yourself.


Find your particular exercise passion. This will vary from person to person, but the goal is to find something that keeps your body in motion.  I personally love to walk my shorkies, play golf and basketball, but many of you may like biking, swimming or going to the gym.  Whatever exercise routine it may be, you have to find what motivates you to move and being active… it doesn’t have to be high intensity.


Decide on your food choices.  It would be safe to say that the food you eat has a more significant impact on your health than the exercise that you do.  I’m not stating that exercise isn’t necessary; however, there’s a reason professional trainers say that abs are made in the kitchen.

I don’t believe in restricting the food that I eat, but instead, focusing on portion control with including more Fruits and Vegetables has completely changed my perspective.  Changing your diet to a High Alkalinic one will help encourage your body to flush out any impurities/acid/toxins on a daily basis.  Knowing when you’re hungry/not hungry also makes a tremendous difference… and it sounds like this should be something that we already know.  But, I used to eat as a way to socialize, comfort myself if I had a lousy day… or whatever.  Knowing this information and taking radical action goes a long way.
